Preview a Godot 4 CompressedTexture2D and export its base image as PNG.
Godot 4 stores imported 2D images in .ctex CompressedTexture2D files, usually under .godot/imported. A CTEX can contain PNG, WebP or image data optimized for the graphics hardware. The word “compressed” does not identify one universal image encoding.
This viewer reads standalone version 1 CTEX containers. For the older Godot 3 format, use the STEX viewer.
Upload a texture, then open texture.png in the results to use the ordinary image viewer and download controls. The original texture stays in original/. Conversion notes and texture-info.json report the dimensions, encoding and mip count.
For a texture inside an extracted archive, select the texture to start its conversion. Completed results are reused when you return. To recover a complete PCK, executable or Android game, use the Godot decompiler.
PNG, WebP and uncompressed 8-bit RGB8 and RGBA8 images are supported. Export keeps the stored pixel dimensions, alpha and orientation. Only the base mip (level 0) of a single 2D texture is exported; display-size overrides do not resize the PNG.
GPU-compressed textures, Basis Universal, other raw pixel formats, texture arrays, cubemaps and volumes are not exported. Their notes explain the limitation; download the original and use a matching Godot editor. Compatibility is tested with Godot 3.6 and 4.3 imports, not every engine version or codec variant.
Textures are limited to 64 MiB, 8192 pixels per side, 16 million pixels and 128 MiB of expanded image data. Conversion runs on our servers with a one-minute limit. Damaged files, unsupported formats and unavailable conversion tools have separate result notes. No uploaded project or script is run.
