Turn compiled Ren'Py scripts into readable RPY. Explore recovered dialogue, choices and script logic, then download the result.
Drop a .rpyc file from your game's game/ folder, or use the file picker.
The server processes the compiled script and reconstructs Ren'Py source where the format is supported.
Open the recovered .rpy in the result browser. Download the file or the result ZIP.
Ren'Py is a visual novel engine. Its readable scripts use the .rpy extension; compiled scripts use .rpyc. A distributed game may include compiled scripts without the original RPY files. Renaming the extension does not turn a compiled script into text.
For a script such as chapter1.rpyc, a successful decompilation produces chapter1.rpy. Depending on the script, it can contain labels, dialogue, menus, screen definitions and Python blocks. Images, music and other assets referenced by that script are separate files and are not recreated from RPYC.
If the game bundles its scripts in scripts.rpa or archive.rpa, start with the Ren'Py RPA extractor. Browse the extracted files and use nested decompilation on a supported RPYC entry, or download that entry and upload it here.
For ordinary .pyc or .pyo bytecode and Python archives, use the Python decompiler. For RGSS archives or RPG Maker game files, use the RPG Maker tools.
This tool uses unrpyc to reconstruct source. Compatibility depends on the Ren'Py version and how the script was compiled or modified. Obfuscation, a custom engine or a damaged file can prevent recovery. Comments and original formatting may not survive compilation, and recovered code may need editing before reuse.
Large or complex inputs can reach processing limits even below the upload size limit. A recovered script is not a complete runnable game: it may need other scripts, assets and the appropriate Ren'Py runtime.
Upload the .rpyc file here. After processing, open the recovered .rpy file in the result browser or download it to read in a text editor. You do not need to install Ren'Py to use this online tool.
The result is reconstructed RPY source. Original comments and formatting may be missing, and recovery can be incomplete or fail for unsupported, modified or damaged scripts. It is not a guaranteed copy of the original project.
Use the RPA extractor first, then select an extracted RPYC file for nested decompilation. Extracting an archive and recovering readable scripts are separate steps.
