Office Document Explorer
Inspect document contents and recover embedded files without running Office.
Office explorer · Word · Excel · PowerPoint
Word sections and tables
Browse DOCX and DOCM headings, text and tables as logical sections. Legacy Word 97–2003 DOC files use a bounded text fallback. Document pages and their original layout are not reconstructed.
Excel worksheets and formulas
Open XLSX, XLSM and legacy BIFF8 XLS worksheets. Inspect populated cells, types, formula text and stored values in pages of 500 cells. Sparse sheets do not expand into empty grids. Missing cached values are identified; cache freshness is unknown. Formulas are never calculated and external workbooks are never contacted.
PowerPoint slides and notes
Browse ordered PPTX, PPTM and legacy PowerPoint 97–2003 PPT slides, readable text, speaker notes and media. No slide rendering, animation playback or pixel-perfect preview is provided.
VBA and embedded documents
Recovered VBA modules appear as readable source with provenance. Source recovery does not guarantee complete executable behavior; macro-enabled files may contain no macros. Embedded files and supported OLE packages retain their bytes and can use the existing nested file inspectors. Macros and OLE objects are never executed. External relationships remain metadata and are never fetched.
Downloads, partial results and limits
Processing runs on our servers. Browse the usual result tree, preview text and media, download the original or export a result ZIP. The office.json report and DECOMPILATION-NOTES.txt explain missing parts, limits and partial recovery. Encrypted files require decryption elsewhere; no passwords are collected. OpenDocument, RTF, Outlook and older pre-97 binary formats are outside this inspector's supported scope.
XML parts are limited to 4 MiB, legacy parser input to 64 MiB, logical sections/sheets/slides to 2,000 and populated cells to 100,000. Shared archive byte, file, nesting and time limits also apply. Raw parts remain available when useful content cannot be decoded. Charts, document layout and all possible embedded object types are not reconstructed.
